how its going

i am slightly behind schedule as there were a lot of things i couldn't do over the holidays but i still have done a lot and i am happy with where i am - 24/4/19

I am getting slightly stressed now and am slightly more unhappy with my work, I got two people to agree to being filmed but one has said she's unreliable and the other will probably forget so I need people to film that are reliable and non stereo type conforming.

This is the first sight at the ending of my product. what I did to achieve this was to look at my story bored and shots and I selected the clip I needed, watched it and used the in and out shortcuts to select the bit of the shot I needed then I put it in my timeline and moved on to the next clip so I have all the shots I needed in order ready to be cut down and edited together.

this is the first sight at my product after being edited, this is just a draft and I am going to re record some scenes but for now this is really good and I'm proud of it, there are three separate sections that I've edited separately so the scenes look good and work together.




i have been looking through for music, i tried to write stuff but i did not make anything that worked. i looked up backing music and scrolled through loads of songs untill i found this one.

this song sounded like it'd work well with my film.



ive edited the sounds so far and i really like this music with tit, it fits really well and keeps the calm happy feel to the piece so the end is such a surprise.

On this screenshot you can see me starting the editing by just picking the clips i need form the ones i imported and moving them in to the source box using the in and out shortcuts to pick the bits i want from the clip before moving them to the timeline. 

This screenshot shows me using the razor tool and chopping down my clips that i put in order on the timeline, I then cut all of the bits of the clips of that were unnecessary and made it all a lot smoother by sorting out transitions. 

This screenshot shows me first adding my music and trying to edit my video so it is in time with the beats and cuts across to different clips in time so it all seems smother and it connects the visual with the audio more. 

This clip shows me editing this scene and choosing the bits i wanted and speeding them up so it appears as though a lot of time has passed. 

This screenshots shown me adding a fade to black transition on the end of a shot, i put this in after the sped up shots so it would transition back to normal time with ease and smoothly, i have also hoped that the audience don't notice this as it just seems like the day is fading out. 

This screenshot shows me cutting together clips from different shots and making them look effortless, i did three similar shots i wanted to cut between so i went along picked the order of them, put them in the timeline then i saw where all the clips overlap so i chose where the second shot comes in made sure it fitted and cut down the first shot then did this again and i'm happy that is all goes smoothly with only minor inconsistency. 

This screenshot shows me changing the audio levels so you cant hear any audio i don't want, to do this  i clicked on the clip i wanted to turn down then I went on the audio mix and found what track it was i wanted to turn down and i made it lower than the background music or down completely. 

This screenshot shows me adding a warp stabiliser to a clip as it is was very shaking, to do this i found the effect in the visual effects and dragged it over to the clip then when it analysed i rendered the clip and looked to see if it was okay, i did this to most clips but it didn't work on the pov bits. 

This screenshot shows me changing the scale and position of a clip so it was a close up on his hair, to do this i selected the clip i wanted to change and i then changed the scale so it was bigger after that i moved the position of the clip so it was just his head and hands and some areas around.

these are the notes i made while filming and about filming

I was filming yesterday and was about to go out as it started ti get dark to film the gun and guitar bag shots but it started to rain and i didn't want to take my dslr out in the rain and i thought it'd be a big inconsistency so i have to re shoot that another day. the rain has also affected another re shoot i planned, i got at least two people to say they'd come in early Thursday for me to film them but now looking at the weather i can see its raining again so i will have to re plan and remember this for the future.

I am re shooting tomorrow, i have checked the weather is nice and i've got at least 2 people to join me, i am excited to re film the group scenes but as there will be many people i need a plan. i am going to have shots of everyone sitting together in a circle talking, i will bring my dslr and take shots of them all walking around. i am going to bring cards so it looks like they are playing together and i am going to have them walk around, climb trees and do different activities together that are safe.

I am going to make a list of what i need specifically

I have just finished a first edit, although i have not filmed the opening the rest is pretty much complete and i am now going to get some feedback for it. 

These two drafts are really good and i showed them to my target audience to get feedback and improve upon until i got what is now my final product, i like to have these drafts so i can see what i have changed and how my idea evolved to what it ended with. 

Feedback

i got people to look at my export two and give me feedback they said the outside bit was a bit long and also complained about the scope as the gun is shooting up close and it looks like a sniper. to improve upon these things i will cut down that scene and re shoot without a scope so it looks more realistic. 

My final product

The purpose of my FMP This video is supposed to confuse the audience and make them really try think what’s happening, they are supposed to not know why their watching what they are and make to wonder what’s going on until the last scene where it all changes so fast and sudden and there’s a murder before you see the quote explaining more in to my purpose. I want to use this video to show people anyone can be dangerous and can kill, it shows the main character doing normal things most people do, it humanises him especially when he’s with his friends. I haven’t shown his face in the whole video so he can’t be stereotyped so he can’t be linked with anyone so the audience still doesn’t know who it could be because it could be anyone. He’s wearing clothes that aren't linked to many stereotypes and so are his friends so it can show you don’t know what to expect from anyone.
