Evaluation FMP 2019 creative media level 3 unit 8

For this evaluation I'll be going through my blog while talking about my experiences and what I've done throughout this project. I overall really liked this project I think it was really good, I think FMPs are great to help you to express what you want to make and what you want to do but also you learn so much through it. I really enjoyed making my final project. My final product is great but there are things I would prefer to change and have more time on. Overall I'm quite happy with what I've ended up with.

Introduction

The start of this project we were told we could either make a visual audio or interactive thing, at the beginning I thought I'll make a music video I've wanted to make a music video for a while. I still want to make a music video but as I started the project and I found songs, I started doing some research in to it, looking into two different videos I saw that quite a lot of people were doing music videos and I didn't want to do the same as everyone else I want to stand out slightly so I decided to do a short film.

Ideas

My first idea for the short film was only a little bit different from what my final product ended up looking like.  On my blog I started talking about my different ideas first, to make music video. My second idea was to make a radio show like last year. Last year I made a forty three minute radio show where I had songs, I had guests, I had adverts, jingles and segments that I all made myself except from the songs, I downloaded songs. I thought it was a really good radio show but I'd love to improve it and do something like it but better knowing what I know now but this time I thought it'd be shorter. I did think if I re did it I’d do it more like a podcast as those very popular now. I really liked this idea and I was very tempted to do it but I thought I want to do something different this this time, to do something different, I wanted to have a change from last year, I wanted to learn more while doing this FMP, I wanted to see more things, do more things, use the cameras more as I do love using the cameras and through my whole radio show last year I didn't use a camera at all. My last idea was to make an Instagram account and social media account just to post videos and see what videos work faster and are more popular. I really feel this was a good idea it'd be really interesting to make a video or documentary or something on Instagram and how to succeed on it but I decided this would take a lot I don't think I'd be able to fully sustain it, it would include my phone quite a lot which most of the time doesn't work so it's not something I want to rely on.

 when I decided to change my idea found old plans for a short film I didn't have time to do this is quoted from my blog I said "it's mostly a point of view film about a boy who goes around his day it shows all parts of his day from waking up to the end of the film he meets some friends has a good day it's mostly just music and sound effects very little dialogue, film ends with him sitting in the tree and the audience doesn't know why and then he pulls a gun and shoots someone then film ends with a bang" I said this and this was that's an idea for a full film I was going to make at some point. It was a lot different in my head from what I'd then created during the FMP that was going to be very different to include a lot different things. It’s going to have a lot different message but after working on this reading this and changing this around I decided that I can use this FMP to help warm people that anyone can be dangerous and you can't trust anyone. It’s meant to make people look around them when they're walking down the street not just look at their phone.

I have my proposal on my blog I thought through my proposal quite a lot went through it all and I wrote all in there. My timetable I made I'm very happy to say I think I stuck to, mostly.

Week one I did my ideas I'd have my pitch my proposal and start my research and I did.

Then week two I was doing more research and I started my planning and three i was doing my planning more but I was still doing research, that's something I didn't put on my blog and reflecting back on it now I should have put my timetable, fact that research doesn't just stop, research happens all the way through the project I’ve only really just finished it.

The next week I did all of the things I needed to but I realized I could have been a little bit faster on the planning I could have sped up done it faster but I was still doing the research, looking into different things, watching things, writing about things and researching so it really slowed me down, it did slow down the whole timetable but I still think I stuck to it really well.

Week four was shooting, I wanted to record most of what I needed and I said hopefully the audio as I had a lot of things I was thinking about, trying to record my own song for the background or something like that but I just I didn't have time for this. I looked online for a while and eventually found the perfect song for the background, I did also need audio of trees and birds and things to go at the end when the song fades out so I got that that week.

 After that week I only really had to do a few different scenes which I did write about it all on my production page, my timetable said finish any recording, start editing and I did start to edit that week and there's quite a lot of screenshots videos me editing on my blog. I'm very happy with how I did I organized it very well and I knew exactly what to do to get it all done.

 Week six I was still editing fixing any mistakes getting target audience review as this was about halfway through project, I did get quite a lot of feedback while I was going through from my target audience to make sure that they would like this video this would still be aimed at them, I kept asking through the whole of this project new people if they liked the video and if they enjoyed i would go up to someone different nearly every time. There's one major improvement I did because of feedback this was when I just added a text block a fake text generator over a clip because you couldn't see the phone that I was trying to focus on when I showed people I was still a bit weary on it that's why I showed some people and this one person said if you blur the background it might look a lot better, it's really just something like that made the whole shot look a lot better and I think that was the difference between me keeping that not.

Week seven I said I was editing more and doing reshoots they lasted from about week four to the final week as I had a lot more to reshoot than I thought because I filmed it all and I went over it all and think "okay this needs improving". when I tried to plan to get quite a lot of people together as the actors friends and have them all talking and having a good day when it came to the day I had my camera, had this large GoPro, everything set out and in the end I had four people but for people was all I really needed, I was her happy with the shoot afterwards but reshooting that was it was very vital and I thought I could hopefully get more people to make it look a little better but unfortunately I couldn't. Other things I had to reshoot was in the beginning there's a shot of him washing his hair in the shower, a simple shot I recorded it in a couple minutes i sorted it out did it all and when I looked back on the video I was like oh you can see my reflection in the inside of the shower so I had to go and rerecord that.

Week 8 of the project is just finalizing the video, getting feedback and doing the evaluation. The video is finalized so I've met that, I have been getting feedback the whole time, I've got quite a lot of feedback recently and it has really helped me.

I really think that I have very much stuck to this timetable and I'm happy I did, it's helped me so much throughout this project.

Research

For my research I started it looking in to the music video research, then below that is all of my research for this project and my final product. 

Channel one: Was a movie and an episode of a show, I really liked the film  as above so below and it was point of view so i looked in to how they did it, I'm very happy with what I found through interviews with the cast and backstage filming, I learnt about different tips tricks and things to do, this helped me because I didn't think really of filming the POV bits or a GoPro I thought of just having my DSLR or having a Panasonic camera and moving that around as if it was POV but I was watching the behind the scene bits and it shows people having like a more of advanced GoPro with a lot better quality as a hat on top of their head, that's why I thought "hey that's actually really clever oh I'll do that" that's helped my work so much, it's just one small little thing but it really impacted my whole video. My research really helped me.

The next thing I looked at was an episode from 'it’s always Sunny in Philadelphia' called 'being Frank' this is about character Frank played by Danny DeVito and it's all meant to be in his point of view but my favourite bit of it all which I included a clip from in my is when he looks in mirror, just that just a simple clip of him looking in a mirror point of view I think is really clever and I really wanted to recreate this, I looked quite into how to do it but unfortunately I just I couldn't figure out how to I tried it a couple of times but I just I couldn't figure out how to get it looking good so I had to abandon this idea. Overall I think looking into this episode did really help me to see different things about what to include it in my FMP. For example in this episode you can see a lot of his hands when he looks down, his hand movements I think is what really makes the point of view more believable so I decided to also have this. I thought it was a great idea so I directed my actor and I told him while you're acting just try to include as much as your hands as possible so he did and it really helped me.

Channel two: YouTube.  Next bit of research I looked into was a short film, I like short films I watch them, but not too much so I thought of a you tuber I know of 'Charlie McDonnell' who really is passionate about short films and I know he's made quite a lot so I had looked at his most recent one called 'our brother'. This whole film is about two people who lose her brother.  looking into this video helped me to see different things that show the differences between films and short films, I thought the only thing that it's shorter but if you really think about it that means so much for long films you'd have a nice long shot of someone just walking around or you'd have some of people going somewhere it's a not really vital to the story it's just nice to have as transitions, whereas short films you don't really have that there very much cut down its very to-the-point, if the scene doesn't have much information in it it's not really used much.  Looking in to this short film  really taught me to just keep it very to the point and cut out quite a lot and I did this and I think it really made my work look a lot better than I expected.

The next bit of research I looked into was slightly unreverent but also I think very relevant, I looked into louis le prince, the guy who made the first ever film camera, I even have a clip on my blog of the first the first thing ever filmed on a film camera which is just a small clip, it's a couple seconds long of some people walking around and I think that's such an interesting thing that this is where the camera started. The first camera had nine lenses then to now to be able to get down to the two inches big GoPro I was using it really made me look more into the into the empirics of it all.

Channel three: Articles. The next thing I looked into was articles. I was looking into mannerisms and stereotypes and habits of serial killers so I could help direct my actor, telling him what to do. Looking into a few different articles just seeing what they're saying it really helped with my misѐ-en-scene. Looking in to this really did help with my directing I think overall it really helped with my whole video. I found out things like a mannerism or habit, something normally a serial killer would do is play with fire so throughout the whole video you'll be able to spot in the background something to do with fire from the matches in most of the shots in his room or in the outside shots and the full clips of someone playing with a lighter. I like adding different bits of foreshadowing like that it's something that the audience would watch the first time they wouldn't think anything of but then once they've watched the film if they were to re-watch they would notice, something I did do which really connects the first scene to the rest.  The first scene, the opening, it's just him zipping up the guitar bag and he puts it down he then presses play to his music and then he bends down and he picks up this knife and he stands up and puts it in front of the TV, just something like that you don't really notice too much unless you're looking but that knife then is there in a different scene, it's just it's just a normal bread knife that I wrapped a lot of string around so it's threatening. him have something that looks like a weapon that looks harmful and interacting with it like it's like it's nothing, he wasn't scared of he just picked it up and moved it shows foreshadows as it links him with weapons and violence. I think it was quite an interesting thing to learn going through all this research looking into serial killers and i really think it helped me loads.

Channel four: Found footage. For my next bit of research I looked into found footage, I found archival footage from Ukrainian soldiers from their head cams, I know this seems slightly Irrelevant  and it doesn't seem like it would help me but I think the gun is a big part of the video so I  think it's good to know more about it.  So whereas I don't know much about guns and I don't know how it's meant to look, I don't know how to make it look realistic so I looked for footage of someone holding a gun now I could have found a point of view movie with someone holding a gun but I thought why don't I look at the real thing so I found archival footage from a soldier's head cam showing him hold the gun and I picked out the different specific things he was doing that I didn't think about. For example you can see he's heavy breathing, you can see him shaking as he holds the gun and things like this so I told all of these things to my actor. I think it was very helpful research as I like to make everything look as realistic as possible.

Channel five: Questionnaire. My last bit of research was a questionnaire, I asked a few questions to some people, mostly I asked people in college but I did ask some people out of college so most of the people I asked were my target audience of 17 to 25 females. There was only three people who are out of the age range and there was maybe just under 10 people who were out of the gender-specific but then I still think it's good to know that most of the people I asked were in my target audience and would be affected by the issue I want to I want to bring up.

 I asked them their age, their gender and I asked about short films something I thought quite important to ask my target audience was if they like short films so if they don't then they wouldn't watch my short film so it wouldn't be so relevant to my target audience but luckily they said yes, a lot of people really liked short films so this was good for me I was able to then produce carry on with this idea of my short film.

The next thing I asked was how long would you classify a short film as, I asked this question as I had a conversation one of my tutors, it was really interesting to see what people thought of how long a short film should be because I always just thought 40 minutes and under but a lot of people thought less than five minutes.

The next question I asked was if they're like point-of-view films, I've been told by a tutor that although point of view is good it looks unprofessional and it's not accepted in media and things like this so I want to ask and I wanted to make sure that with the point of view in my film my target audience would like it and yes most of them said they would enjoy the point of view part of my film none said they look unprofessional which is something I asked just to make sure.

The next question I asked was about this quote, originally I did not plan on having a quote in my video, I did not think about it at all but my tutor commented on one of my posts and told me to watch a film about Ted Bundy, he then said the quote that he thought reflected slightly what my video was about and I've read it and it really does just show what my whole video is trying to portray so I thought it's really good to include this quote. More reasons I included this quote not just because it matches but I could have just put it on my blog and said this quote really links to my video but it's a ted Bundy quote and he is now quite famous and he's quite well-known because of the two films or documentary that been released about him it's made him quite popular within my target audience so having this quote from him will hopefully engaged them more. While also showing that this guy was a serial killer he was he was horrible and he still said this quote that's completely agreeable and it really just adds to the point that you can't tell who is dangerous while looking at them by talking to them there are no stereotypes on who can be dangerous.

the next question I asked was would you watch a five-minute video if you’re confuse through it because I understand that although I am trying to make the audience confused this for a lot of my video it might put a lot of people off watching the video and make them stop but I was quite happy with my feedback from this question because although some people said no they won't watch it if they're confused through it but I had people telling me that it would intrigue them more and it would it make really more interested than anything. I was really happy with this feedback this is an example of how my research really helped me.

Channel six: Target audience. The last thing I looked at was my target audience. My target audience I survey I've lost the survey it all messed up so it isn't on my blog but I asked some people how old they are if they would watch this idea and then I linked that with the stereotypes and things to be able to get my target audience of females age 17 to 25, normally a student, income less than fifteen thousand a year, this is the basic target audience that this video would relate to and help.

My research overall my research I think my experience doing it was really good and it really helped me just going through looking at all the different channels learning so much and it helped to produce my idea more looking into everything it was really good.

Most people I talked to about my project when they asked about it all I said was it’s just a short film as I didn't I don't know who I'd be asking for feedback I asked different people so much so I didn't want to spoil the plot I didn't want to have people already know what's happening so internally I sort of thought more and more into the killing scene, I didn’t get much help in the last scene because I just wanted to do it all myself and not have anyone know too much about it so that it couldn't change what they were thinking when I'm asking for their feedback, I think this was a good idea as I got to do it how I wanted it but I think there might have been ways to improve. I did ask some teachers about the scene, I did plan to reshoot but I eventually ran out of time so I couldn't reshoot that bit but I don't mind too much about that as I'm very happy with what I've ended up with.

I went through other people's blogs and I looked what they've done, I looked at Charley's blog and her research and I went through it all and I've read it all and I really I think she did so much and I think she did really good research for her project and really relevant, this made me think about mine and the relevancy of my research but overall I think although I didn't do much it was very relevant.

My feedback really helped me throughout this project just getting all the feedback of my blog, just this research page I got so much feedback on my research, if I scroll down my blog I've got so many comments and the last one said my research has developed and I can certainly see it benefiting my overall project I'm very happy with this as I am aiming for a distinction. The last thing I was told to improve which I have completed is my bibliography, I had to improve it but I've now done that and I've cited it and another thing I was told to do was a concluding paragraph discussing how my research helped my idea so instead of just doing a conclusion paragraph I decided to twist his feedback and maybe make it better so instead of one conclusion paragraph at the end I decided to feedback on every single bit I went to detail on how every bit helped me and why I did every bit of research that I did and it's really good idea, I think really helped me to see all my research and how it related.

Planning

Planning starts off with my targets, every week I did targets that had what I wanted to do that week written in,  just simple little thing, a nice smart target to have and complete throughout the week and every week I think I managed to complete my target. My goal for this week was to do my evaluation. I am doing my evaluation but after doing this I'm then going to go and I'm going to get feedback on my whole blog again and my evaluation I'm going to go ask about more feedback so I can make sure it's perfect. The next thing on my planning page is a location recce, I didn't take a photo out on the space I recorded that would look good to add in the recce. I have added a screenshot of the area around it and I said what day I went.

My storyboards, I have a lot of different storyboards I wrote about why I changed it but I have the first storyboards, I did just a basic storyboard of what I wanted it to look like then I went through it all and you can even see on some of the pictures where I've just crossed it out a little something where I just didn't think the shot would work and I changed it, I wanted to cut it down or to make it a lot more simple remove all the extra excess, unneeded scenes. I made another storyboard, its five pages long, this is the one I went out to film with and then near the end of the filming I encountered some problems and I had to change it. Most of the problems I changed were with the bag, I put quite a lot of emphasis on the bag I have the gun in but in the end the gun had to go into a guitar bag so I had to change quite a lot my idea had to redo some of it so I could see different things so on the new story and add more to change the emphasis to this new bag. There's POV shots of him walking into the room looking at the guitar and picking it up and then there's the change then below there's the screenshot of him leaving the house with the guitar bag on and there is a storyboard on my blog but I cut out this whole scene because it just felt too unnecessary and it just made feel too unnecessary.

Now with my sound list there's not much on it, it really just says backing music and different simple things which I changed only a little bit throughout the whole project. I didn't think the sound list was very important relevant or helpful to me so I did this once and when I changed all my storyboards I left it because as you can see it's mostly just numbers because if I just put it blank that just meant backing music as that's mostly what my only audio was. I had the backing music I fade it out right near the end then I have Birds, trees and at the very end there is a tiny little bit of dialogue of the actor saying “hey” to get the attention of the person that he then killed and then there's bang of the gun being shot. Any other sounds on this is during the scene with a lot of people as some are laughing, giggling and talking in that but it's not really important and I didn't really put many sounds so it didn't take away from the focus of the visuals and the message that I was trying to send.

Then at the bottom of my planning page is my risk assessment, I think it's always a good thing to do them as I really like looking at all of the risks and making sure but I've assessed all and everything is safe for my cast.

My feedback I got on this as I was doing it were some of the photos were blurry so I retook all the photos and I put them back up on my blog. My feedback was very helpful with this and then I got told that there's not really much writing on it so I wrote about how I've changed and why and how I've improved on all the research. I think this was the first project I've really properly relied on storyboards, I don't normally rely on them too much so relying on them was very different for me it was a good thing to learn and it's a very different feel to be doing a storyboard and stick to this while I film but it makes a lot better because I was able to write down exactly what I needed to do.

Production

My next page is production, this page starts off with some notes I wrote it was just after half term.  I started this production during half term when I couldn't do anything over the whole week so I did fall behind. The next thing I wrote was a week later, I wrote about how I was getting extremely stressed and getting more unhappy the work. I talk about my group shot I did outside where I had envisioned perfect people for it because I didn't want people that met too many stereotypes so before watching it you couldn't look at them and only see, stereotypes are always there, always in the back of your mind everyone is always thinking about stereotypes and what happens and if you look at someone you automatically stereotype them without even thinking so I wanted people that didn't meet as many stereotypes so I asked people who I thought would be great, I got two people at this point to agree to being filmed,   I made a plan of what date and I said would you like to come on this day to come film I will be here, I'll be then this time one person said "oh yeah I'll do it" and then about 10 minutes later she said "oh I don't know as I'm quite unreliable I will probably just forget" so I then started to stress and panic about it all. Although this was very stressful I learned I need to pick more reliable people and I really needed to think about who I knew would turn up but unfortunately the same thing happened again. I figured out the only way I could do it was to say during this lesson do you want to come out with me and film so I got two extra people to come out with me and my actor to film. Unfortunately one of the people just didn't listen to my directions, they were moving around so there was too many inconsistencies for me to use the shots and then they weren't acting very nice to the actor and it didn't look the best so I had to I had to reshoot. My reshoots went really well so now I have learnt that I need to make sure I find reliable people who will listen to me when I need to film people.

Looking at my draft that I have, which is one my first drafts, was very different and I like to look back on it to see where I began.  It was just three separate sections that I edited separately and I was going to have bits in between but I hadn't done them yet so I was happy with these three separate sections and I wanted to put a draft up so in the end I can go back and I can see this and I can see the differences and how the video improved. the first scene from this was cut, I first cut it down a lot shorter and then I had to cut it all out because the bed sheets were different from then to another scene and it caused too much of an inconsistency. The next bit I had to re-film because you couldn't see it very well, I was trying to make it so you can see the phone and the texts that were happening, it was quite an important scene, but there was no way to make it so that you could properly read the texts so I had to reshoot which I did and ended up being a lot better it still wasn't the best. The first outside clips, I told my cast to go sit down talk to Locren, say hi and be nice. There’s a transition on this that happened where it goes from him walking to sitting down, filming it, it was meant to be from walking to then goes to his point of view, that wasn't going to happen the clips I used were going to be a lot different but I couldn't do what I had planned as one of the actresses just wouldn't listen to me so the whole shot was ruined so I had to cut so much off that. The end scene I've got transitions between walking different angles and it shows the guitar but this is when the confusion is meant to start setting in and he undoes the bag and the gun the target audience is meant to be confused that there's a gun, he pulls it out, picks it up and then you see this girl walking past, she's just walking from a different angle and then it shows him from behind, it's meant to show she's walking down and then it's his point of view looking at her, watching her, as he's breathing and shaking slightly, connecting to my research, and then it ends right at a bang. That was my first draft and the only thing similar from that to the final is just that last scene, that hasn't really changed much so I'm very happy with it and I've really liked that from the beginning.

I did some screen shots as I started to edit, I was doing it so I can explain how I edited it all, there's bits of me just putting the clips on the timeline, then starting to cut them down adding music and then changing the volume making sure the volume will work and more. After that I started to do screen recordings so I don't have to explain how I did everything that happened and screen recording is a lot easier to be able to see what I was doing and how I did things, looking back on it I would defiantly do this again and I’m glad I stated to do these.  In the recordings I was trying to create text bubbles that letter by letter appeared in perfect timing, it took me hours but I had to remove the whole thing, I had to do this as I asked about 5 people in my target audience if it looked okay and if it fit and all of them said they didn't like it and it looked strange.  I was getting quite annoyed at this as I spent so long and Premiere Pro crashed so many times but in the end this video is for my target audience it's not for me it's not nice to jut delete it as I spent time on this but doesn't relate to my target audience and if my target audience doesn't like I had to be completely remove it.

I learnt quite a lot I really through this whole project and the whole production of this, to listen to my feedback from people every week and seeing what they was so crucial to help me create my whole product.

 There are notes from a notebook on my page, I'd keep this notebook with me at all times when I filmed and I always wrote notes when I filmed, after I filmed, and say what happened and what will happen the next time I was filming. I did write a lot about my filming because I found it was a really good way to keep track on what I was doing what I needed to do and if I made any changes.

My text scene, I filmed what I needed but as I shot that a week later than the rest of the other clips because it was a re shoot, the actual video ended up being a different colour from the rest, I tried to colour correct it but I couldn't get it the same colour if I wanted to be able to read the text which is why I then changed all the text stuff and I got up a text screen instead that blocks the phone in the clip. It is annoying that I couldn't read it, it's a major inconsistency that really irritates me. I have learnt from this that if I were to do it again I would need to film all of the shots in one day like i had originally planned. 

Product

For this I am going to watch my video and talk about it.  My whole video starts off with him zipping up the guitar bag then he puts it down. In this first scene I tried to make it seem it's the morning of the day so in this shot I set him to have messy hair, he's in some casual like sleep clothes and then after he puts the guitar bag against the wall he presses play to music, I thought was a really good idea to connect the visuals and the audio. After that as you see he picks up a knife and he puts it down next to the TV where it stays in layer scenes.

The next shot is him showering, then he does his hair, it shows he's just like every normal person, it really humanizes him. In the next clip he's doing his hair in the mirror, I've included that scene to see the different side of him and what he was then wearing that day to connect him more to other scenes as it swaps in and out of point of view a lot.

This next clip is the bit that I didn't like the colouring of, you see it's slightly green at the beginning of the clip. In this clip he holds up his finger like a gun foreshadowing the rest of the film, he does it against this nice little Banksy, and in time with the music, he puts his arm up and then he gets a text come through and he goes over to read it where you can see matches and there’s the knife, these both link to my research in to the mannerisms of serial killer's. After this the text comes up, I really don't know how slow I actually typed when recording this  because it is twice the speed and fits perfectly, I'm happy with how it turned out and I think I timed it well as he sends the text right as the video goes down of the typing. Once the text has sent he walks back a little bit then it shows him picking up his bag, you can't really tell that it's a different shot from a different day.

Then it goes to him sitting down with his friends, he’s having fun doing some stuff, talking or having a laugh. This is meant to be humanizing him more. Then they play cards as it shows they are friends and it is good to see them interact in a friendly way, in my shoot of this shot before the main character was not really talked to and it all seemed awkward so I organised activities for this shoot. As their having fun he's shown how to do a fake gun thing with a weed that’s grown nearby but it's more foreshadowing for the gun.

There’s a transition subtly put in after that clip, it's at the end of him walking around with his friends and it goes to the start of him and sitting and he's about to leave. All the transition is is a small fade to black and out of it again so it shows the passing of the day and the ending of the scene and the nice day.  

The next thing he does is he comes home, takes his glasses of and gets some food, I think eating humanizes him more,  you can see there are lighters on the bed as some small link to the mannerisms of a serial killer.  In this clip he stops, looks at the guitar case for a second, puts his glasses back on then he picks up the bag and he leaves.

The last scene shows him walking down a path when he stops, looks around and walks in to a secret bit at the side. Then it cuts to him opening the bag as the music fades out so it would seem earie. When he opens the bag and you see the gun finally you’re meant to be shocked and confused. After you see the gun there’s a small clip of him pulling it out the bag, the way he pulls it out is very violently to show his anger more.

Overall my Product was really good, there was only one clip I don’t like. I have got a lot of feedback whilst doing this so it would be accurate for my target audience. If I were to do this again I would know to film all scenes in one area at the same time and if I have to re shoot to re shoot as much as I can from that area as to not have many inconsistency’s.

Conclusion

Throughout my FMP I learnt I learnt quite a lot. I learnt how to use storyboards properly, I learned a lot about editing and I learned about Different filming techniques. Overall I'm really happy with how my FMP turned out although I think I could have improved my video if I had more time I'm happy. I had some trouble like with my with the clip that's completely off-colour. I think my whole video is quite good although being critical of it I think might be a bit boring at some bits because it can be a tad too confusing but I think it's all together to make the overall feel of it and the overall message really stand out and make you very surprised at the end.

 I've definitely learned that my for my FMP next year I need to evaluate as I'm going through, I need to continue to research as I'm going through, I need to continue of my timetables and I'm going to work with schedules. I think this is the best I've been on time in a project so far so I really hope this carries on to next year and I know a lot of what to do and how to improve for next year.

I got a lot of feedback throughout this project and I think it was a really good that people commented on my blog and I kept going up to people asking them feedback, asking them to comment on the blog. Something I was really focused on was to have my product perfect for my target audience.

Filming went really well because I'd already have it all planned out and I'd sit down with my book and plan everything out. I think it could have improved the last scene especially as there is a big inconsistency in that scene with the girl in it just walking along and through three different scenes her arms change position in every scene, it's just a little thing that's bugged me but when I asked advice on it I got told that it would not be noticeable for most.

To compare my research, my planning, my production and how I wrote notes and how I produced it all to other project I think has been the most efficient. My editing style is very simple, I use in and out points and select bits of clips I want then I put them all in the timeline in order, then I cut it down so it fits.

It makes me happy to see how well I've personally done, how organised I've been throughout this project and how well my actual production of it all and my research and my idea went.

Overall I'm very happy with everything I have produced and I've learnt so much throughout these weeks, going through my research it really I can see it helped to influence my idea there's all these different things I saw this really helped to influence it change it make it better, I'm really happy with all of that and how it turned.

Comparing my final product with the small description of my idea from the beginning really shows there's not much difference and I'm really happy with that I'm really happy with the whole storyline and how everything fits together. I'm very happy this is one of the best things I've done overall in media over the last eight units and the year before. In this project I have learnt a lot about post production. I like post production it’s definitely one of my favourite parts of the whole project and the editing and I love being able to see the different transitions. The way I can do just a small change and it can change the whole mood of a scene or the entire video is really interesting.  

Overall I think I think I've changed due to this experience, I definitely think I have grown more mature and doing it and actually working really hard at everything when I see people that are just sat there and they can't be bothered to do some work today. I think now looking over it it looks very childish, when I come into college I spend my time doing my college work, I do as much work as I can, I try not to waste any time in class, I like to just do my work I've changed doing that because beforehand if I come in there would be some lessons where I've been really tired grumpy so I just sit around not doing too much but after this I've really learnt to just do my work and push myself.

I'm really happy with this FMP, there's definitely a lot I could have changed, a lot I could have done better if I had more time but I think with the time I had, I did pretty good. Sure critically I can say that there's still a lot of inconsistencies all the through so next time I will try to focus on them and remove as many as I can. I know that is a fault that I've had before in different things, I've had many inconsistencies for example in different projects like last year with my radio show FMP you could tell when I had film things at different times because the mic might be loud or quiet and it's a big inconsistency.

 The backing track I had it fade out just before they got the gun out but to do that I had to crop it and chop out a bit, you can't tell too much but I can really hear where the music changes and I don't like that but I didn't have enough time to go on audacity and sort it all out and have it perfectly blend together.

 I like researching all through the project so I can see different things I'm stuck on or I'm confused about I research more into it, I learn more. Research is a constant thing and it really is just a tool to help you improve and I did.

My planning of the whole video and project was really good and im very happy with how organised I have been although I do have great difficulty with my organisation.   I am very happy that I always planned what my target of the week was going to be I think overall I really stuck to these targets. Although next time I would do more detailed targets so I could stick to them more achieve more in detail.  

I think a lot of people are got a lot more writing on their planning page than me whereas I've just got all of that and maybe more in photos of my book and notes I made. I put all my notes from my book in my production and not my planning although a lot of the notes are planning but I don't want to have it in two different places and I feel like it is mostly production so I've got it on there. I learn a lot of planning I learned a lot about storyboards and home porn now if you're doing like a

I'm happy with my production throughout this project, I had to do a lot reshoots but that was only just so I could perfect it all. I spent ages editing and I'd always sit there and go on it and Edit something or re-watch the same video loads to see what the bad things are and how to improve them, it's not something I would have done before, I would have just left it with what I thought was fine but with this I really looked into it and I've really concentrated on all of my production.

I have done screen recordings which I've never done before and I think they’re really helpful so in future I'll go back to that and I'll be able to see what I did, if I sit down and I want to do something like that text bubble and see how did I it I'll be able to. If I forget how to do a nest or something similar I recorded I can go back and see it and I can use this then as a resource next year and use this as my research. Again I have a little less writing again in my production page than other people do but I think I've got a lot more screen shots and screen recordings.

I got a feedback about writing more and my photos needed to be a better quality so I redid all the photos and I did descriptions of all the screenshots and screen recordings I have.  

Overall with my product my final product I think the idea to others it seems a little weird and  a little different but I'm really happy with it, I learnt a lot making it about short films, editing and the mannerisms of serial killers.

I've got some really good feedback on my final product, people said they loved it, people said they were so shocked and it makes me really happy to see how my target audience reacted to my video making very successful.  I think it's a really good FMP and this is a really good product and this year has been the best in media I have had.

Targets for next year:
After this project I have decided to make three targets for next year
Number one is to continue to make targets and schedules for each project and each week.
Number two is to plan my shots in further detail before I record and too watch the videos over at the shoot if possible.
Number three is to stop getting distracted and to concentrate on my work during college hours and nothing else.

My final thoughts on this project:

This project has gone really well, I think my final product was very successful and met my target audience as well as getting the message I wanted to across. Overall I’m thrilled with how I worked in this project and this year.
